Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed veteran defender Kyle Walker will captain the team this season, with five other players taking up the role of vice-captains.
Walker has been City captain since last season following the departure of Ilkay Gundogan and although the German midfielder has returned to ทางเข้า ufabet https://ufabet999.app the club this season, Walker will remain as captain.
Pep has left it up to the players to decide on their captaincy, as he did last season, and Kyle Walker will continue to do so this season.
While the vice-captaincy has increased from four to five after Gundogan returned, the rest are Kevin De Bruyne, Rodri, Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva.
“Kyle is the captain, the vice-captains are Kevin, Ruben, Rodri, Bernardo and Gundo,” Pep said ahead of the trip to Newcastle United.
Ilkay Gundogan, who was the captain that preceded Walker and lifted three trophies in our historic Treble season. He has also been nominate after returning to the Etihad Stadium in the summer.
Guardiola is not involve in the squad vote and is happy to let the players decide.

“It was too tight [to have just five players]. For me, it doesn’t matter. As long as we have less problems, it doesn’t matter.”
